Updates to the Section 8, and Section 13 forms have been published, and will come into force on Wednesday April 6th, 2016.
The updates to Section 8 have come following the introduction of the Section 21 Notice last year. The new update amends the form to mention the prescribed section 21 notice created by the government last October and adjust the notes on grounds for possession.
The Section 13 notice, used when landlord wishes to increase the rent on a periodic tenancy without giving a new tenancy agreement, has been amended to correct errors in the formatting and explanatory notes.
Changes have also been made to Form 5, which is used for agricultural tenancies.
If an outdated copy of any of the above forms is found to be being used to take possession of a property of increase rent, a judge has the capacity to overturn the request in court.
