According to the latest figures by released by Rightmove, the average costs of property in the UK has shot through the £300,000 mark.
Average property price in February came out at £326,836 in the east of England, £399,680 in the south east, and London pushed the average way up with prices soaring in at a whopping £644,045 average.
In contrast, the south west came in at just under the average with buyers looking at paying around £292,251, and the west Midlands at a (reasonable!) £204,140.
Rightmove experts believe that contrary to tradition, it is not the London and south east that is pushing the prices up. Momentum spreading across the north and west of the UK is driving the growth, with London and the south remaining relatively static, with some pricier parts of London even showing signs of dropping.
