With more and more legislation coming into forces governing the private rental market, it feels like there is always something new to consider as a landlord.
With this in mind, it is hardly surprising that many landlords, who once enjoyed a relatively stress-free job are now really feeling the pressure!
A recent survey of 500 landlords has revealed that rent arrears and having to deal with ongoing property repairs are the two biggest causes of stress followed by the need to carry our Right to Rent checks – 72% of those surveyed admitted to not fully understanding what they have to do to comply with Right to Rent, and 44% will only rent to people who have documents that they recognise and understand.
