The refugee crisis dominated the headlines in 2016, and it’s set to be a political hot potato in 2017 as well.
However, regardless of the arguments raging in the halls of Westminster and the White House, there’s plenty of people still in desperate need of accommodation in the UK currently.
Community charity Citizens UK, are working closely with local authorities to provide safe and secure housing for asylum seeking families who have travelled to the UK and are looking for work and housing.
With the government committing to resettling 20,000 Syrian refugees in the next five years, these charities are vital in the cause of providing a new life for these families. However, they are desperately looking for landlords who are able to provide suitable properties for a minimum of a twelve month term.
The Syrian Vulnerable Person’s Relocation scheme covers the cost of resettling families, and includes the cost of private rental accommodation (paid at local housing authority rates) and a deposit equal to four week’s rent prior to a family moving in.
If you have a property that you think could be suitable, and would like further information, contact your local housing authority, or Citizens UK for more information.
