84-year-old landlord banned from letting property

Following persistent failures to comply with Improvement Notices, which were issued in response to complaints of a property that had fallen into a state of disrepair, 84-year-old Leslie Winspear has been ordered to pay over £20,000 and sign up to a Criminal Behaviour order, which puts a bar on him renting out property or instructing a letting agent to do so on his behalf.

It is not the first time that Mr Winspear, has been found guilty of renting out a property in poor and dangerous conditions, which is why Northampton Magistrates Court secured a Criminal Behaviour Order against him, in order to prevent the situation arising in the future.
